Master of Jurisprudence (MJ) Programs

Drake 法学院 offers several Master of Jurisprudence (MJ) programs on a full-time or part-time basis.

Drake 法学院's MJ programs are open to students who have received a bachelor's degree, but have not earned a JD or its foreign equivalent.

The programs are available to both American and international students. Credits earned as an MJ student are not transferrable should a student later decide to pursue the JD program.

MJ in Compliance and Risk Management

The MJ in Compliance and Risk Management, offered by Drake 法学院 and Drake’s Zimpleman College of Business, responds to the growing need for employees to ensure that their companies are meeting 政府ernment regulations and adhering to ethical standards.

The program combines the legal and business knowledge necessary to thrive in highly regulated fields such as financial services, 保险, 医疗保健, 药品, 农业综合企业, 和公用事业.

MJ in Individualized Legal Studies

The philosophy of the MJ in Individualized Legal Studies program is to allow each student to build his or her own program to fit their individual career goals and interests.

学生 must complete 24 hours of law credits from the regular Drake 法学院 curriculum. Candidates may choose a pre-set concentration in Business Law, 刑法, or International Law and Global Citizenship, or design a curriculum to fit individual career goals.

金融援助 Details for MJ 学生

Loans are available for students wishing to pursue an MJ degree. 学生 must enroll in a minimum of 5 credits each semester in order to borrow loans.

学生 are required to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if they are interested in borrowing loans. That form is available as of October 1 of the year prior to enrollment. 威尼斯人网上娱乐's code for the FAFSA is 001860. (www.fafsa.ed.政府)

Once the FAFSA has been processed, the Drake Office of Student Financial Planning will mail a financial aid packet. Loan documents should be submitted approximately one month prior to enrollment, if not earlier. Instructions are included in the packet.

There are currently no scholarships available for students in the MJ program. 然而, if a student earns at least six credits in law school courses towards an MJ and the student is later accepted into the JD program, the law school will provide a one-time scholarship for the JD program for the amount the student paid for up to six law school MJ credits. This scholarship would be granted in addition to any other scholarship but the combined scholarships may not exceed the cost of tuition.
